Safeharbor Village is designed to be more than housing — it’s a place where residents have access to the resources they need to build stable, healthy, and independent lives. All services are voluntary, resident-centered, and delivered through trusted community partnerships.
At the core is resident-centered case management. Trained case managers work alongside residents to identify personal goals and develop individualized support plans — focused on housing stability, healthcare, employment, education, or personal wellness. Staff move at each resident’s pace, not a program schedule.
Services are funded through a blend of public healthcare reimbursements, housing grants, philanthropic contributions, and service provider contracts — so residents access support at no direct cost.
Safe, permanent homes are the foundation of everything else. Our housing model provides residents with stable, long-term living environments — not temporary shelter — so they can focus on rebuilding their lives without the constant threat of displacement.
We coordinate access to physical healthcare, mental health services, and substance use treatment on-site. Residents don’t have to navigate a fragmented system alone — care comes to the community.
Workforce development, job training, and employment pathways are built into the Village model. We work with local employers and workforce partners to create real opportunities for financial independence.
Safeharbor Village is the physical home of our integrated service model — a permanent supportive housing community planned for Whatcom County, Washington, with capacity for 120+ homes across 25+ acres.
The Village brings all three pillars of our program under one roof:
Safeharbor Village represents a replicable model for integrated supportive housing—
structured for measurable outcomes and long-term community benefit.
Calyx Foundation is committed to financial stewardship, governance best practices, and measurable outcomes. Donors, institutional partners, and community stakeholders have access to financial disclosures, governance documentation, and project materials.
We believe transparency builds the trust that leads to lasting impact.
Do you provide healthcare, workforce, or social services in Whatcom County? We’re building a voluntary partnership network to serve Village residents.
